Interview with Amy Zimmer from The Biggest Loser

Q. Mark RealityWanted.com: Had you watched prior seasons of The Biggest Loser? If so what was your favorite season or contestant?

A. Amy Zimmer, Biggest Loser: I am a big fan and watched season two and three of The Biggest Loser. While on my couch watching season three I saw a casting commercial for season four. I went to my computer and found a local open casting call, applied, and made it.

Biggest Loser 4 - Episode #9, “Gone Amy, Gone! Amy’s Gone!”

images.jpgA tearful Amy walking out of the elimination room, off the Biggest Loser Campus for good, puts that Violent Femmes tune in my head for some reason. Wipe your tears friends, this week’s recap is a bit late, but some housing issues prevented me from sending you my blissful blog immediately after the show. Now let’s get to it. Amy.

Amy, the girl I loved to hate in the beginning. The Red Team whiner without care of circumstance she had all the tools in front of her to change her life, for the better, for good. Then, several weeks ago, that all changed. Amy walked away from her combative and non-helpful relationship with Red Team Trainer Kim Lyons and chose Black Team Trainer Jillian Michaels as the one to get her in shape. And it worked. Pushing hard for her newfound team on challenges, working out like a mad woman in the gym to prove herself! She gained my respect and became a favorite.

Biggest Loser 4 - Episode #8, “Going ‘Green’ Gets Ryan Gone!”

images.jpgThat’s right Blue Team fans, another one gone, another one gone, another one bites the dust. I wouldn’t be surprised if fellow Blue Team Member Neil is whistling Freddie Mercury’s famous tune across the Biggest Loser Campus about now. He’s a GAME player my friends. You’ve gotta hand it to him. Votes off his best friend, who’s gone through “everything” with him, like a pro! He can manipulate with the best of them (“I did NOT have sexual relations with that woman” – Clinton fans will understand!).

Biggest Loser 4 - Episode #7, “Dave’s Done and Doin’ It at Home!”

images.jpgSan Francisco rockin’ and rollin’ tonight about half-an-hour prior to tonight’s Biggest Loser episode. A magnitude 5.6 quake shook the Bay Area. So, in true newscast style, the first 15 minutes of the show, pre-empted with earthquake coverage. Once I shook off the jolt, calmed the dog, grabbed an iced tea and hunkered down for the aftershocks, the show was back in progress. I missed the fallout from Neil’s own shake-up last week, by throwing the weigh-in and gaining 17 pounds. Clearly, what I caught, both the Blue and Black teams were still reeling from emotions of his actions.

Biggest Loser 4 - Episode #7: “Neil, the Most Hated Man on Campus”

images.jpgHe’s the game player. The one trying to turn the odds to Blue’s favor by gaining a whopping 17 pounds for this week’s weigh-in. Teams were split this week into four groups of three. Black Team Member Jez won the “High/Low” card game challenge for power to pick which members would make up those teams with an ace of hearts. Most members folded after the stakes got a bit too high. The bidding consisted of Oreos, chocolate chip cookies, vanilla wafers, cheese, crackers and peanut butter cups. Most members “folded” their hands early, to not consume the unneeded calories. A showdown between Red Team Member Amy, playing with only a nine of hearts and trying to put on her best poker face, and Jez who both consumed 1,750 calories in the bidding war.

Biggest Loser 4 – Episode #6, “Farewell Phil”

images.jpgRed Team gave Captain Phil the boot this week, but it wasn’t just his teammates’ making the call. Two votes for Amy and two votes for Phil put the final vote into the hands of the winning team at the scales this week, the Blue Team. Blue’s decision came down to the “biggest threat,” which was the ex-football player from Ohio who lost 61-pounds in his six-weeks at the Biggest Loser Campus.

Biggest Loser 4 - Episode #5, “Bummer for Black”

images.jpgOne half of the East Coast twins sent packing this week. Jim, the first of the “Last Chance Cafe” comeback kids, goes back home to Long Island. This, just days after he brought his team to victory in the challenge on “Temptation Island,” otherwise known as Jamaica.

Contestants and trainers sent to the Caribbean for a week, with slacking off, alcohol and exotic, fattening foods at their fingertips. Black Team Trainer Jillian struggled to keep her team in line, reminding them although it’s a vacation spot, her team is not on vacation. Amen sister. It’s a week people, in a game STILL, with your health, happiness and $250 thousand clams at stake. Get it together!

Biggest Loser 4 - Episode #4: “Contestants ‘Black’ and ‘Blue’”

‘Black and Blue’ from the bruises felt after learning the Red Team won complete immunity from elimination at the weigh-in this week after winning the challenge (I’ll get to that in a moment). The added sting came from the fact Red lost a mere nine pounds this week, compared to Black’s 50 and Blue’s 32. Bob Harper said “it sucks” since HIS team ended up in line for the elimination chopping block.

Biggest Loser 4 – Episode #3: “The Comeback Kids”

images.jpgI started writing tonight’s blog just prior to the vote off, talking about the Red Team’s weigh-in and how they’re back in the game, etc. Solely because these two-hour shows, although entertaining and lovely, are forcing Jen into late night bloggings and even later sleep patterns (is “bloggings” even a word? Mr. Bush?) Anyway, please don’t worry about my sleep deprivation. Right now, it’s all about Jerry. Again!
