Sara Cut From Americas Next Top Model

Sara, the 20 year old college student from Heath, Massachusetts, was cut from running on tonights episode of Americas next Top Model. Tyra told Sara the judges felt like she was coasting and that they were having a hard time finding a place for her since todays models are either super skinny or plus sized.

Press release: Sarah, a college student from Heath, Massachusetts, was the sixth girl eliminated during the ninth cycle of The CW’s hit reality series “America’s Next Top Model,” reducing the pool from eight girls to seven.

As the girls compared their body weight and sizes while getting ready for bed one night, Sarah revealed in confessional that she was beginning to feel uneasy about her weight. “It’s weird; you are around all these skinny girls who are so thin. So maybe I go to bed not feeling as good as I did when I woke up,” Sarah said.

Later that week, the girls arrived at a dance studio where they slipped into nude colored bodysuits and were greeted by Tyra for a lesson in portraying “model sexy.” Tyra demonstrated various exercises with the girls to show them how they could use their bodies and facial expressions to portray different types of sexiness.

The next day, the girls met with music video director Jessy Terrero who informed them that they would all be participating in a music video starring one of his artists, which to the girls’ delight turned out to be Enrique Iglesias. The girls were quickly transformed into gothic, underground club goers, but Sarah was self-conscious in the slinky black netted outfit she was given to wear. Lisa and Heather were both selected to be featured in the video, but all of the girls had a chance to put their new modeling skills to the test in front of the camera. During judging panel, all of the judges noticed that Sarah seemed visibly uncomfortable as she watched the footage of herself in the music video. The judges expressed concern that the uncertainty Sarah felt about her weight was coming across on film, but also that her weight loss was pulling her out of the plus-size model category. “I don’t see a lot of improvement in Sarah. She’s taken good pictures consistently, but where is the leap?” Nigel asked during deliberations. “The judges feel that you are very good, but they also feel that your place in the industry is kind of confusing right now because models are so skinny or they are plus sized,” Tyra told Sarah before eliminating her from the race to become “America’s Next Top Model.”

In addition to a $100,000 contract with cosmetics giant CoverGirl, this year’s prize package for the winner of The CW’s “America’s Next Top Model” will include a contract with Elite Model Management and a cover and six-page fashion spread in Seventeen magazine.The ninth cycle of the hit reality series “America’s Next Top Model” on The CW follows 13 young women as they attempt to prove they have what it takes to make it in the high-stress world of modeling. Banks, who created the show, also serves as executive producer along with Ken Mok (“Making the Band”) and Daniel Soiseth (“Hell’s Kitchen”).
